one second everyday — october 2015

so, october!

once the boy recovered the use of his legs, we jumped to london for a few days. we hugged our friends and their babies, chased after dogs in the park, ate lots of good food and then, too soon, it was time to come back home and catch up on everything: work, laundry, gardening… speaking of which, we planted an olive tree and some passionfruit and bougainvillea vines — fingers crossed they’ll survive our black thumbs! towards the end of the month, we did our annual trip to bielefeld to catch up with friends and for some postcard-writing time as well. and then, we came back home and hosted our canadian friend lynda, on one of the last legs of her month-long trip around europe.

it was a good, full month… but now we’re glad to be home-sweet-home, with no trips on the horizon! :)

one second everyday — september 2015

september was a very exciting whirlwind of activity!

our month started in lovely prague, launching the czech postcrossing stamp. after that, we returned to portugal for a short week and then it was time to fly to berlin! the streets, the beautiful autumn days, all our friends and their babies… it’s all still so cozy and familiar, it felt as if we’d never left. the two weeks we spent there passed in the blink of an eye.

oh! and last but not least, the boy ran his first marathon, covering 42km in a super speedy 3 hours and 12 minutes!! not bad for a first-time, eh? :D

one second every day — august 2015

august was the first month we stayed put, without any major trips. hurray!

that doesn’t mean we got bored — far from it! we had lots of visitors, friends and family alike, who kept us company and helped explore the nearby beaches and towns. i also got my shiny new library card, and the boy kept running and preparing for the upcoming berlin marathon. only 2 weeks to go now! :)

one second every day – july 2015

in july we celebrated lots of things… usually with ice-cream!

postcrossing turned 10 (wow!), lots of friends came over to visit us, p.’s dad turned 78, and my littlest cousin was born! other than that, it was a quiet blue-skied month, with lots of work behind the scenes and some occasional trips to the beach. :)

one second everyday – june 2015

moving right along to june!

june had a brilliant start, celebrating postcrossing’s 30,000,000 postcards, having friends over, a new macbook (finally!) and a weekend trip to sevilla… but then p’s mom caught pneumonia all of a sudden and we travelled north to give a hand in her recovery for some weeks. she’s better now, but all these comings and goings in the first half of the year have left us somewhat restless and eager to find a quiet balance. the search goes on.
