it’s the pre-xmas season again. we can’t really feel it here, because the chinese are not very keen on that holiday. no xmas lights on trees (well, not more than usually anyway), no window shops decorated with red and green.and yet, we have our own subtle reminder: moms.
“so what do you want me to cook for you when you come?” is the question following “how are you?” nowadays. to which we happily answer with the roll of our favourite dishes and as many xmas desserts as we can remember.
it’s not like we’re starving here, but you know, mom’s food will always be the best – and i can guarantee that it tastes especially delicious after a few months abroad.
we should start dieting now, to make up for all the extra kilos we’re going to put on those 2 weeks.

e roupa velha? e perú do natal? e legumes da horta? e arroz doce e aletria e mexidos e sonhos e essas coisas todas? e vinho português, caldo verde, cozido à portuguesa, papas de sarrabulho?
nunca suspirei tanto pela sopa da minha avó (que tanto me chateava, dantes) como quando estive fora.

ahaha :D I know the feeling, we know the feeling ! Everytime we go to Portugal I also make the lst of what I want to eat :D and believe me, even though we’re not in China like you guys are, it makes suuuch a difference! first thing we always devour is pastry :D and Bruno coffe of course but we have Delta here in our home (brought from Portugal of course).
But this time we’re keen in trying this season’s german food as we’re not going home for Xmas
Que tipo de coisas comes por aí no dia-a-dia ? Habituaste-te à comida local ou procuras coisas mais próximas do que comias em Portugal ? E a comida daí é mesmo assim tão diferente daquela que se encontra nos restaurantes chineses em Portugal ?
Se calhar até já escreveste sobre isto algum dia mas não me recordo (ou ainda não seguia o blog nessa altura), por isso manda-me o link que eu leio ;)
Cá eu, para o ano que vem vou para um estágio internacional, mas não devo ir para tão longe, devo ir algures para a Europa. No entanto, na associação através da qual vou conseguir o estágio, temos lá uma rapariga que quer ir mesmo para a China ou Índia. Se me lembrar logo lhe indico o teu blog :)
