one second everyday — october 2016

october was quite homely and had a bit of everything: rain and sun, close and faraway friends, good meals (homemade pho and green curry!) and even a visit to our local waste treatment facility on their open day!

the highlight of the month was our yearly return to bielefeld and to the land of gorgeous autumn for a few days. this is our 7th year going — which seems unbelievable, but so nice. once a year, we come together with these friends in a little house in the woods to catch up, walk and write some postcards together. we see them so infrequently, and yet, every time we come together it’s as if we never left.

i want more of these moments.

one second everyday — september 2016

keeping up with the tradition of exciting septembers past, this one was no disappointment!

there was time with the family and friends, updates to Postcrossing, races and kittens… but the highlight of the month was definitely a much-awaited visit to slovenia, in which we went back to all our favourite places and filled our souls with greenness. i’m convinced there’s no place quite like it in the world. :)

one second everyday — august 2016

we decided to stay put in august, and just go with the flow…

the long days were filled with a flurry of visitors, concerts, summer fairs and tons of basil promptly turned into delicious pesto! <3

one second everyday — july 2016

july was oh-so-social!

we had lots of friends and family over, or met them for dinner or even skyped with them! we went to the beach a few times, and P even ran his first 5k there (and aced it!). the national team won the euro! we enjoyed the town’s nightlife and in the end of the month we drove north to help the family… and collect tons of summer produce from their gardens! :)

one second everyday — june 2016

if june had a theme, it would definitely be friends & family. the month was spent catching up with dear friends both local and from abroad, tearing up in weddings, visiting family, and then hosting family here in the south. in the in-betweens, we wrote postcards, enjoyed being tourists, tested recipes for meatballs (for friday night meatballs!) and admired the new world map that now hangs in the office! :)
