one second everyday — february 2019

february looks boring, but it was actually pretty good. we hiked some new trails, went north to plant trees, met with new and old friends, fed the deer in the local nature reserve and made progress on my second pair of socks. we also discovered a bio farm right here in our town and we’ve been going there ever since. :)

one second everyday — january 2019

january was spent mostly in thailand, dodging winter and exploring the country with our friends.

i wrote about it in previous posts, but i really enjoyed being back in asia. it’s hard to describe how much i missed it these all these years… and the thing is, i don’t think i even realized it until we set foot there again and were immersed in its craziness. take me back!

2018, one second everyday

one last post about last year:

looking at the whole year like this brings on a wave of gratitude and happiness for these treasured memories. so many smiles and friends — old and new. almost six years later, i’m still happy to have taken on this task to record one second of video every day.

2018 was a good year. onwards to new adventures!

one second everyday — november 2018

november was good, the way months spent at home usually are: quietly productive, with long-term plans moving forward. the days were mostly the same mix of work-gym-eat-work, and as a result, i ended up forgetting to film quite a few seconds, but that’s ok.

the highlight of the month was having dani stay over for a few days, studying for her upcoming ielts exam and preparing for her first job interview. we also launched the new profile pages on postcrossing, i joined a knitting club and got started on my first ever pair of socks, and had friends over for “friendsgiving”. :)

one second everyday — october 2018

october felt like a dizzying roller coaster.

it started with a 2-week stay up north, because p’s mom took a tumble and needed a bit of help getting back on her feet. lots of running around and afternoons at the library, frantically trying to keep all the plates spinning. after that, we came south just in time to pack our bags for a long-anticipated trip to visit our bolzano friends, who have been tempting us for years with photos of their alpine adventures… and boy, did they ever deliver! the scenery was gorgeous, the time of the year was perfect, and we hiked, camped, slept, ate and talked to our heart’s content. probably one of the best weeks of the year so far, and we so needed it.

we left the alps a bit teary-eyed, and jumped right into the warm hugs of all our bielefeld friends for a few days, before returning to the south with our friends O&Z, in order to show them a bit of our algarve — including a dip in the ocean, as they had never swam in one before!

dear october, you were intense. in the future, let’s try not to do ALL THE THINGS at the same time, k?
