we decided to stay put in august, and just go with the flow…
the long days were filled with a flurry of visitors, concerts, summer fairs and tons of basil promptly turned into delicious pesto! <3

july was oh-so-social!
we had lots of friends and family over, or met them for dinner or even skyped with them! we went to the beach a few times, and P even ran his first 5k there (and aced it!). the national team won the euro! we enjoyed the town’s nightlife and in the end of the month we drove north to help the family… and collect tons of summer produce from their gardens! :)
if june had a theme, it would definitely be friends & family. the month was spent catching up with dear friends both local and from abroad, tearing up in weddings, visiting family, and then hosting family here in the south. in the in-betweens, we wrote postcards, enjoyed being tourists, tested recipes for meatballs (for friday night meatballs!) and admired the new world map that now hangs in the office! :)
and since we’re at it, here’s may:
in may, we had my parents staying over for a week, and then quietly settled back into our normal routine. we worked, exercised, hiked, did some ISS-spotting at night, and dusted off the raclette set for some cheese-heavy meals with friends on the last cool days of the season. all in all, a pretty good month!
dear april, i didn’t mean to ignore you for so long… here we go:
in april, we said goodbye to iceland and arrived in berlin for a quick stopover, juuuuuust in time to see our friends cross the finish line of the half-marathon! :D the rest of the month was unusually (but delightfully!) social, with friends and family staying over, dinner parties and kid’s birthday parties as well. ace!
