our birthday tradition: to put this song on repeat first thing in the morning, so that it gets stuck in my head the whole day! :D
31, yay! i love birthdays, and i love being spoiled rotten by friends and family… thank you for all the nice messages i’ve received today (both online & offline)! it was an awesome day, filled with sun, nice food and very neat presents! :)
… like someone who periodically backs up your inbox, without even asking… just in case! :) seriously, how sweet is that?
i might have mentioned this once or twice or thrice before… the boy runs. he runs a lot, and he runs fast, often doing pretty well in competitions. me? i stay on the sidewalks by the finish line and cheer for everyone that goes by, clapping for the kids, the old people, the fast ones and slow ones, the ladies, the skaters, the guys running in suit & tie… pretty much everyone, until my fingers hurt or the boy arrives – at which point my clapping is all for him :)
i also take the opportunity to steal away his phone and take photos with it! we have a little project going on, documenting the races with before-and-after photos… here are the results so far.

curiously, after every single race the boy gets this bulging vein on his head that looks suspiciously like something out of harry potter…
may was a great month – even if the video isn’t one of the best so far. some highlights:
– lots of trips, big and small: london, weimar & erfurt
– street food thursdays, which have become almost a tradition on thursdays
– big stuff smoked bbq‘s delicious plates
– 2 postcrossing meetups in a single month
– the finnish postcrossing stamp
– the first couchsurfers of the season
– and more dr. who than we’ll care to admit… :)

– the boy ran 2 half-marathons (on the last one, he placed 24th!)
– first ice-cream of the season
– flying the rc plane
– bright sunny days
– lots and lots of nice meals with friends :)
